Subclass 010

Bridging visa A (BVA)

This temporary visa generally allows you to stay in Australia after your current substantive visa ceases and while your new substantive visa application is being processed.

Subclass 020

Bridging visa B (BVB)

You can leave and return to Australia during a specified travel period while your application for a substantive visa is being processed.

Subclass 030

Bridging visa C (BVC)

This temporary visa generally allows you to stay in Australia after your current substantive visa ceases and while your new substantive visa application is being processed.

Subclass 050 and 051

Bridging visa E (BVE)

This visa lets you stay lawfully in Australia while you make arrangements to leave, finalise your immigration matter, or wait for an immigration decision.

Subclass 942

Crew Travel Authority

This Authority is for international airline crew who don't have an Australian or New Zealand passport, or a valid Australian visa, and who travel to and from Australia as they work.

Subclass 151

Former Resident visa

This permanent visa allows former permanent residents and certain people who served in the Australian Defence Force to live in Australia.

Subclass 988

Maritime Crew visa

This visa allows foreign crew on a Maritime Crew visa eligible ship to enter Australia by sea when on an international voyage. It is also for the partner or dependent child of a foreign crew member of an eligible ship, when on the same ship.

Subclass 602

Medical Treatment visa

This temporary visa is for people to travel to or remain longer in Australia for medical treatment or to support someone needing medical treatment who holds this visa. It is also for people who are donating an organ.

Subclasses 155 and 157

Resident Return visa

If you leave Australia after your travel validity expires, or it expires when you are outside Australia, you will not be able to return to Australia as a permanent resident. This visa allows you to return as a permanent resident.

Subclass 444

Special Category visa (SCV)

This temporary visa allows you to visit, study, stay, and work in Australia, if you are a New Zealand citizen and meet the eligibility criteria. It is usually applied for each time you enter Australia.

Subclass 808

Confirmatory (Residence)

This information is for former holders of Norfolk Island entry permits. This visa lets you remain in Australia indefinitely. You can travel overseas and return to Australia as a permanent resident until the travel component of your visa expires.
